Ear Wax Removal

“Excessive ear wax can not only cause muffled hearing but can also be uncomfortable and cause some dizziness and tinnitus. We remove excessive wax by irrigation using warm water or dry removal using a Jobson Horne probe and /or Henckel forceps.”

Before any treatment, it is necessary to use olive oil to soften the wax for a minimum of 5 days. Olive oil is recommended as some over the counter drops for wax removal can cause discomfort an irritation. Please ring if you would like an appointment. Note: treatment may not be possible if you have undergone any form of ear surgery, if you have a perforated eardrum, if you have had any mucous discharge from the ear in the last 12 months or have had a middle ear infection in the last 6 weeks
